“I Am More”
Poem by Anonymous (9).
I am more than just my body.
And I am more than just my mind.
I am more than what I don’t have.
And I am more than what is mine.
I am more than what you think of me.
And I am more than what I think myself.
I am more than what you know of me.
And I am more than what’s been withheld.
I am more than the picture you’ve painted.
And I am more than the sunshine you see.
But can’t you understand that clearly,
I am not something you want to be?
Author’s Note: The poem stems from the the idea that we all have pictures and images of each other as well as an outline for ourselves. But that there's more to us than just what we or other people see.
