Look down at your body and whisper there is no home like you

i feel it all

every

 movement

sensation 

emotion

i feel the way you look at the ocean

the longing

heart tugging

beating against 

the farthest layer of your chest 

like a lost magnet

the way

the music flows through your ears

mingling through brain creases

electrochemical signals dancing 

with the tapping of your leg

only i can see it

through your eyes

the ocean foam that collects at your feet

the sand sticking to your hands and fingertips

cold coconut water slipping down your tongue

your heart in your throat

jumping to escape its lifelong prison

restrained by veins and your will to keep going

only i can feel with you

the way those voices touch your soul

how the beat 

makes you want to burn your soul 

in the depths of hell

just to melt into the music

to finally be one with the rhythm

once and for all

forever

only i know exactly how it feels

to live in your skin

to have to stuff my overwhelming lack 

and abundance

of passion

into that small bag of skin and bones

strung upon the shoulder of my soul

slapping against my side with each stride

overflowing and spilling

i feel the cool wood

as your fingers trace the groves

of your dead grandmother's closet doors

her baby powder scent

stuck 

only i can see

and admire

the experiences

no one else

is privy to

no one else could ever love you like i do

they could love you more

but

only i could ever know you like i do because

you are me
