An Early Spring Morning

By Sannie Wan

Chillied air

Rays of soft sunshine

Bright and crisp with birdsong

Everywhere

The frenzied desperation to find a mate

To protect their territory

To make themselves known

Sweet lulling music to our ears

The smell of after-rain

Everything dewy, slightly damp

Clean blue skies

Mud in the grass

Mother nature

Has juiced the clouds

Reset the earth

And made it young

Again
