“Colour”

By A Poem Guy

I see the reddest red in the things I fear,

I see the orangest orange in the things that disgust me,

The yellowest yellow in the things I can barely see

And the greenest green in the things that comfort me.

There are colours all around me,

Colours here and there,

Colours only I can see.

I see the cyanest cyan in the blinding sky,

And the bluest shade of whatever blue this is in the ocean.

With the deepest blue in the eyes of a blondy,

And the purplest purple in what I used to think was a purple nurple.

Black might be easy to see,

But there’s so much more to me.

White needs a highlighter on the screen

But in the world it’s the only one with all the colours,

The first colour that turns into yellow,

And red and blue and green.

Have you ever seen a pinkish pink?

Or a brown,

Or grey,

Or the colours that have never seen the light of day?

The colours make up the world,

They show it all,

To you and me,
