Thanks
By A Poem Guy
Thank the thinker that thoughts are thought,
Send praise to the preacher, preaching their god.
Be gracious to the leaders, leading the people,
The people who work, struggle, and stand.
Thanking the thanker,
A breath of fresh air against the smog of appreciation,
Thanking the planet,
Letting humans live there, despite our claws and legislation.
Give more than just thanks,
If at all possible.
The thanklessness of those who don’t
Entills a cycle of silence.
The cycle of dark, endless sadness,
Always loses to genuine joy.
Thank the savior,
And the saved,
Trying to survive.
Thank the builder,
And the man in the tie.
Doing the best they can to live their life.
The politicians clawing out each other’s eyes,
And the medics ready to patch it up,
Thank both.
Someone has to do it.
Someone is.
Thank the parents,
And the son.
The successes of which belong to no single one.
Thank the trees for the shade,
The sun for the light,
The stars for ambitions,
And your bodies for life.
Thank while you can,
Thank yourself for trying again.
